A common 'blog' thing is to create lists, and an even more common 'life event' thing is to create a mid-life crisis list or an age milestone list (a bucket list with a deadline before death). Kyle (not that he's going through a mid-life crisis) brought this to my attention about a year ago. He had just created his '30 before 30' list. A list of thirty things he wanted to do/accomplish before his 30th birthday. Why? You ask. Well everyone's reasoning is their own so you can see his reason here. Now, at the time I thought it was a fun idea and considered doing one for myself but I was already well on my way to 30 so I decided against it.
I had pretty much forgotten all about it until recently. The other morning (at 5 AM to be exact) I was on a 10 mile run by myself and I started blogging in my head - it's a great distraction tool. Usually I forget these brainstorms the minute I'm done running but this one stuck. What if I did 30 things WHILE I was 30. I would have one year to accomplish these things. The more I thought about it, and the individual items that I wanted to tackle, the more I loved the idea! What a great challenge AND I'd get to do some of the things that I've been wanting to do but just haven't made the time.
So, here I am putting my brainstorm on paper (okay 'on internet' but that doesn't sound as cool) and making it a reality. On February 14th I officially started my 30 WHILE 30 list. Of course I'll be documenting my progress so stay tuned.
I've come up with 15 things as of right now, and instead of waiting to post this with all 30 I decided to just put it out there and come up with the rest later.
